Cooper is a self-proclaimed optimist, with a mantra of “work to appreciate every moment.” He measures this span of gratitude from the time he wakes up and enjoys a nice cup of black coffee to the moment he lays his head down at night. He knows these moments, no matter how big or how small, start in the place you call HOME. This is why he sought out a career in home building, so he can, “…help create a special canvas that our homeowners will paint their unique and beautiful memories upon.” And by the way, speaking of gratitude, he loved watching the Georgia Bulldawgs finally win a Championship over Alabama!
If I had to condense down what is important to me, I would say that am driven by three passions. Faith, knowledge, and running. I love to skydive, travel, and hike and consider myself an exceptional aunt, and dog mom. Titles I take very seriously! Plus, I am fluent in four languages. How did these blessings and mantras take hold? Definitely through the example and teaching of my incredible parents, wherein I developed a commitment to hard work and perseverance in approaching every task.
Caring for things comes naturally to Chris. He raises Boer Goats, has LOTS of chickens, and carefully counted out to us the number of tomato plants in his garden which is 14 along with other varieties of plants. As far as those Harleys? One is for touring and long trips, the other he built himself. Wow.
Speaking of growing things: “Family is everything to me.” he says. “I’ve raised three girls here and one boy ranging in ages from 18 to 27, here in my native York County, SC.” … “If I would have to say one thing in particular about myself I would say I passionately appreciate craftsmanship and doing things right the first time.”

By keeping the debits and credits in line, she enjoys her role in helping families move into a brand new home.
But, instead he is chasing his second passion – high performance home building. Taylor brings to Evans Coghill Homes an insatiable appetite for pushing the envelope of how to build a better, more comfortable, more energy efficient home today. He continues to study processes and challenges all of us to go further and achieve better performance results for our homes. If you want to meet him for lunch one day, make it BBQ from Ray Nathans in Belmont. He will be there.
Raising kids has been replaced with raising wiener dogs. Being a Minnesota native, his allegiance steadfastly lies with the Vikings on Sundays. Ask him about meeting Dale Earnhardt while working to fix his pinball machine. Interesting story.
Paul enjoys helping people imagine the spaces that they will call home and then seeing the joy through to completion.
He says he will definitely not do one of those again. Professionally, he proudly served as the 2018 NC Home Builders Association President and State Representative to National Association of Home Builders. He is graduate of Virginia Tech, loves any ACC Football game, seeks out local, quaint coffee shops and is a home beer brewer.
Why I Like home building? Our industry builds safe places for dads to read books to his little girl, to celebrate report cards, blow out birthday candles with grandma, bandage skinned knees and help kids grow up. No other industry has this responsibility and I am glad to be part of it!
