Like Cheers, Byrums is the kind of place where everyone knows your name and that is part of what makes it so special. Byrums is about 3 miles north of Overlake at McLean and the corner of S New Hope Rd and Armstrong Ford Rd – on your way to downtown Belmont.

Byrums has been the local favorite grill since 1985 but it started in the early 1970’s a grocery. As the area has grown, Byrums morphed into what is now a popular roadside grill. The second generation has taken over but not forgotten their roots  that got them here.

It is unpretentious and there are no paper menus. What you need to order is all on the Pepsi sponsored menu board hanging over the counter. They have made built their business around simple, good food, a southern smile and consistent value. The hot dog for $1.99 with the chili might be the best around. Or, maybe the bologna and egg sandwich (don’t scoff until you have tried it).
