New Homeowners Will Love McLean’s Seven Oaks Cafe

As beloved chef Julia Child once said, “People who love to eat are always the best people.” In North Carolina, we know that a good meal is much more than just food; it brings people together and gives us another reason to be grateful.

Our Evans Coghill Homes team is excited about a new culinary experience just a minute away from McLean in Belmont, where we’re building new homes from the $340s in the community’s Overlake section! Having just recently opened, Seven Oaks Cafe is already making a splash in Belmont as a true hometown, history-rich spot to share a meal.

Located in the McLean House, Seven Oaks Cafe truly takes you back in time while offering modern options for brunch, lunch, and dinner. This stunning, newly-restored 1850’s home belonged to John Davidson McLean and his father, William McLean, who were the first doctors in Gaston County.

The beautiful land that encompasses McLean was acquired by Daniel Stowe during World War II, who farmed the land, and used it for celebratory events with family and friends. Today, Seven Oaks Cafe secures its spot within the traditions and history of this incredible, rich land.

Just like its sister restaurant, The String Bean, Seven Oaks Cafe provides families with a warm and comforting spot to enjoy a Southern meal. Adjacent to the gorgeous Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, Belmont’s newest restaurant is a scenic food experience that makes you feel right at home.

If you love a good meal shared with family and friends in a welcoming and friendly environment, you’ll love this new cafe in one of Belmont’s most desired neighborhoods, McLean. Here, history and traditions are forever a part of our lives, and we graciously honor the legacy of our town by coming together as a community — which is easy with amazing food!
