The world now knows about  how the great t he Greenway is near Baxter Village and Riverwalk. The Anne Close Springs Greenway was featured today in the Charlotte Observer.

The Greenway (as the locals know it) is a beautiful 2100 acre park. To call it a park, however, is really understating it. Between the horse trails, bike trails, fishing ponds and hiking trails, it is an outdoor paradise. The Greenway opened in 1995 and was a gift from the Close family to their Ft Mill neighbors. Apart from providing local recreation, the original idea was that the tract would buffer Fort Mill from sprawling development and protect the Steele Creek watershed. Today, it is doing that and more!
